The
Archie Miles tree collection
is probably one of the most extensive of its type in Britain,
with more than 100,000 transparencies to choose from.
There is coverage of all the native and many of the introduced
species; a superb selection of heritage and veteran trees of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; a rich and varied collection of British woodland
types; some stupendous detail and 'art' pictures of trees
as well as tree related
subjects, such as charcoal making or willow baskets.
On file there is also an extensive archive of historic
tree illustrations dating back to the eighteenth century
.
Geographically
the collection covers most parts of Britain, although
it is particularly strong in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire,
Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and along the
Welsh Borders. Not only are there many fine and defining
landscapes, but also a
good selection of castles, cottages, towns and villages,
churches and bridges.
High
quality colour prints are available
from any of the images that you see displayed on this
website and, whenever possible, we will try and accommodate
