POPLAR - most specifically a large and varied selection of one of Britain’s rarest native species - the black poplar (var. betulifolia). Mainly old pollards, but also coppiced specimens and maiden trees. The tallest specimen in Britain. Two of the best concentrations of the species in the Vale of Aylesbury and on Castlemorton Common, Worcs. Details of bark, leaves & catkins. Hybrid black poplars. White poplar. Lombardy poplar. Aspen.
