YEW - a very large collection featuring most of the famous ancient yews from around Britain. The Fortingall Yew from Scotland (supposedly Britain’s oldest tree - over 5,000 years old). The Fraternal Four in Borrowdale, Cumbria. The Much Marcle Yew, with the seat inside. The Llangernyw Yew, Wales’ largest yew. The Crom Yews in Co. Fermanagh - vast tangled canopy of two interwoven trees. The Florence Court Yew - a sport of fastigiate form which is the mother tree of every other Irish yew in the world. There are many, many more. Some are famous for historic reasons, but others are remarkable for their contorted and hollowed forms. Details of flowers, fruit and wonderful bark patterns.
